Here comes the Tablet that most Business Person or even a regular Tablet Enthusiast are been waiting for (or probably has been looking for). The SmartQ U7H DualCore 7" IPS Tablet with built-in DLP Projector will probably the most unique Tablet introduced by SmartQ and become readily available this year. SmartQ for me is not just a Chinese Company that manufactures cheap Tablets, they seem to not like the "You Get What You Pay For" motto. They manufacture Tablets with excellence and world-class quality that is almost comparable to world-class expensive brands known to most of us.
Unlike any other cheap Tablets being offered from China, SmartQ choose to use a well established ARM Chipset manufacturer like Texas Instrument for their Tablets. The SmartQ U7H is built with TI-OMAP 4460, a 1.5GHz DualCore Cortex A9 processor paired with Imagination Tech PowerVR SGX540 graphics. A well optimize and power efficient chipset that most branded smartphones are also using. It also comes with a built-in Wi-Fi B/G/N and built-in Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. A 1GB Low Power DDR2 RAM and 16GB of NAND Flash storage which should be enough handling the latest Android OS JellyBean 4.1 and every tasks are going to process.
The new SmartQ U7H DualCore 7" IPS Projector Tablet is already available at Pandawill.com for US$365.99. A cheaper version SmartQ U7 with TI-OMAP 4430 and 8GB of Flash Storage can also be bought for US$328.99 both includes a world-wide free shipping. Not as cheap that some of us expect but maybe we should also consider that this is like a Tablet that Corporate Business or a regular Businessman could have for more than US$500.00.
SmartQ being smart and chose a 7" screen with 1024x600 resolution together with the popular IPS Technology that gives not just extra wide viewing angles but a color-rich images quality as-well. Portable enough to carry it anywhere else and do your presentations. It uses a scratch resistant glass screen and just on the top-right corner is the 2.0MP Front Facing Camera which is great enough for Video Calls or capturing self-photos for social media.
What we are seeing on this picture is actually the DLP LED Projector lens with 40 Lumen of brightness and can project good quality of images with 854x480 resolution within 5~50 inches of distance. It is expected to provide 20,000 hours of working time or 2-years of life span. The slider switch located near to the DLP lens is probably the switch to turn-ON the Projector. The DLP lens is also partially embossed above the Tablet's back shell surface to provide such angle for best Projection.
The SmartQ U7H DualCore 7" IPS Projector Tablet's thickness measures around 11mm to 14.4mm, it doesn't have flat back shell surface so it has two thickness measurements. The edge and corners are curve and rounded except on the DLP lens area. SmartQ made such great effort to create a unique Tablet without ruining the design, kudos to their engineers. It weighs 360grams (common weight of an 8" Tablet) which is still pretty convenient to carry the device with one hand.
The back shell material uses a Plastic with matte finish. although Plastic, it does look like sturdy and rigid and. it also shows here the 2.0MP Rear Facing Camera right at the back of the embossed DLP lens area. It doesn't have LED Flash so this Camera is definitely not going to be good at dark. And the Stereo Loudspeaker which we hope to produce good quality of sounds to the point we and our friends/relatives/love-ones can enjoy watching Projected movies all-together during camping or at remote location.
SmartQ also generous to include huge 4800mAh Battery, 200mAh less than Ainol Novo7 Flame but is surely much efficient because of the TI-OMAP 4460 chipset. The expected Battery Life is 6-hours which is probably calculated with DLP Projector turned-ON.
The picture on the top is the Power Button and Volume Rockers are located, while on the picture on the bottom is the complete Tablet Interface Port area which luckily is complete. From Left to Right, we have the tiny Microphone hole, the 5V 2A Wall Charger port, 3.5mm Audio Port, microSDCard Slot which usually supports 32GB of microSDCard, a microUSB port which also usually provide OTG function and the miniHDMI port which makes this thing complete unlike the reigning champ Google Nexus 7.
If you need to do a presentation at work and there's an available Projector, you can save lots of Battery juice if you just connect the Tablet to Projector using miniHDMI to HDMI cable instead of using the built-in Projector. Or you can do the same on your large HDTV panel to watch Full-HD movies. Great options that SmartQ didn't forbid to include.
There are still no Performance Benchmarks available for this Tablet but we should definitely expect awesome results. TI-OMAP 4460 is a superior chipset, handling any intensive tasks an everyday users do should be a piece of cake on this device. Plus, SmartQ is also known for their incredible software support, they just recently unrolled latest JellyBean 4.1 OS for all of their recent products (faster than Samsung and any other Chinese Tablet manufacturer did). And based from users feedback, its pretty stable and flawless. Good job for SmartQ for taking Software Support seriously.
